Operating regulations

The operating regulations are established by the Port Authority. They apply in parallel with the Harbour Regulations and general statutes. The purpose of the operating regulations is to ensure good order and safety within Mälarhamnar's area of operations. You can find the operating regulations in full on our page for document.

Operations are also governed by instructions and recommendations issued by the Swedish Petroleum and Biofuels Institute (SPBI), the Swedish Oil Ports Forum (SOHF) and the latest edition of the International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals (ISGOTT). The "ILO code of practice safety and health in ports" also guides our activities.

ISPS

Maritime security is governed by the ISPS Code. The port authority may issue special security regulations for each individual call. It is the responsibility of the user of quays and other facilities within the port facility to be familiar with the regulations and to ensure that subordinate or hired personnel are notified and apply them.

The port facility refers to the part delimited by fences and gates. Only authorised persons, vehicles and notified/booked goods have access to the port facility.

While inside the port facility, outside the vehicle, all drivers and others should be prepared to present identification upon request. Access routes must be respected.

All visits or arrivals must be notified to Mälarhamnar at least 24 hours before arrival.
