For an efficient, smart and more sustainable logistics chain.
Move goods
Mälarhamnar enable the movement of goods to and from all over the world
A smarter way for freight - and for all of us
The future of logistics starts here, in the centre of Mälardalen. As the largest inland port in the Nordic region, with quays in Västerås and Köping, we see it as our task to move more goods from road and rail to Lake Mälaren's waterways. Shipping is a smart and underutilised resource; a single vessel can replace as many as 125 trucks from our roads, helping to reduce congestion and wear and tear on our shared infrastructure. We already have the capacity to handle these volumes here with us today.
Choosing to ship by sea is fundamentally about creating smarter and more sustainable solutions. It leads to more efficient flows for business and a lower climate impact for our planet. But above all, it contributes to a smoother society, with less time spent in traffic and more time for what really matters - like getting home in time for Friday dinner.
